The objective of building capabilities for advocacy and dialogue will be achieved through financing of eligible organisations in their advocacy and dialogue efforts. The funding will help the organisations identify policy and planning issues, to develop policy positions and promote policy proposals to the relevant authorities. This will influence the policy and monitor implementation when agreement has been achieved. Examples of type of initiatives that may be funded are:
- Collection of data on economic potentials in relation to the selected value chains to gather evidence and support policy negotiations
- Advocacy for social change to the structural causes
- Monitoring and assessment of the implementation of central and local government policies and budget which affect development of the value chains.
- Seminars, workshops and meetings to facilitate policy dialogue between private sector and the central or local authorities.
These activities will be closely coordinated with activities of sub-component 3.1 as well as with the activities of component 1 and 2.
